Partial Dentures

Dentures are used to replace missing teeth, while also restoring your chewing and speaking ability. Dentures are removable appliances that mimic natural teeth and provide support to cheeks and lips, giving you a completely natural appearance.

Most dentures are made of acrylic and will be personally designed for proper fit. Conventional dentures are designed by our dentist and created after all teeth have been extracted and gums have healed. Immediate dentures are placed immediately following the extraction. For this type of denture, the gums are allowed to heal with the denture in place.

Care for dentures

It is a good idea to care for your dentures properly. Our dentist will advise you of proper denture care, however, below are some guidelines to follow:

• When handling your dentures, stand in front of a sink with a towel or fill the sink with water. This ensures that if you drop the dentures, only minimal damage will occur.
• Brush and rinse the dentures daily just as you would with your normal teeth by using a soft bristled denture brush.
• You may also clean your dentures with denture cleaner or by soaking them in a glass of water with denture cleaning tablets.
