One of the simplest procedures we can do to enhance your smile is whitening. Whitening teeth gives you a younger and healthier looking smile and give you the confidence to smile.

There are products that are available over the counter. The one that I recommend is the “White Strips by Crest.”. By placing the strips over the teeth, over several days, you get a difference in color within a week or so.This treatment does work for people who are younger, in their early twenties. As we get older, the stain is more internal and it requires a much stronger treatment, and that's when the professional treatment comes in.

There are different ways of whitening the teeth professionally in the office. The most economical and most common ones are trays. The trays are fabricated over your teeth and they are custom made for your archers. It holds the chemical right on top every tooth for maximum effect.

The trays similar to the strips, they requires daily use over a week or two to see a difference. There are different concentrations for different applications. Even people who are sensitive can use a tray because we have chemicals to desensitize the teeth before and after the treatment. It doesn't have any negative effect on the teeth.

Another treatment is the same chemical, but with a higher concentration that is called office whitening or zoom. With this procedure, the concentration is higher so it can harm the gum around the teeth. That's why we do it at the office. It takes about an hour and a half and between that, the patient gets a whitening equivalent to wearing the trays for a whole week. It is very effective. We also provide trays with this procedure for the patient for 2 or 3 days after the treatment to get a huge boost in whitening.
